Root Canal Therapy

If missing teeth are changing the way you eat, speak, or smile, dentures offer a clear path forward. They replace missing teeth with a custom fit that supports daily function and facial structure, helping things feel normal again.

What Are Dentures?

Dentures are custom‑made dental appliances that replace missing teeth and the surrounding gumline. They’re crafted to look natural and feel comfortable.

There are three main types:

Complete Dentures

Complete dentures, also known as full dentures, replace all teeth in the upper or lower jaw. They consist of a gum-colored acrylic base with a full set of artificial teeth designed to match your natural smile.

Full dentures rest directly on the gums and are held in place by natural suction, the shape of your jaw, and your facial muscles.

Partial Dentures

Partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain. They include replacement teeth attached to a lightweight base, often reinforced with a metal or acrylic framework.

Partials stay in place by gently attaching to nearby natural teeth, which helps keep them stable.

Implant-Supported Dentures

Implant-supported dentures are secured to four to six dental implants placed in the jawbone. They may snap onto the implants or be permanently attached, depending on the design.

Because they are anchored to implants, they offer excellent stability and reduce movement while eating or speaking.

How Are Dentures Placed?

The process starts with a consultation to understand your needs and examine your mouth. The dentist takes detailed impressions to create custom appliances.

If extractions are needed, your gums may need time to heal before the final dentures are placed.

For implant-supported dentures, dental implants are planned and placed first, followed by the attachment of your custom denture once healing is complete.

How Long Do Dentures Last?

Dentures are designed to last for many years. With good care and regular dental visits, most dentures last between five and ten years.

Since your mouth naturally changes over time, occasional adjustments or relining help keep your dentures fitting properly.
